Hoggies Estate Wines has celebrated further success at the recent Limestone Coast Wine Show, with the Kopparossa Estate 2012 Coonawarra Vintage Reserve Shiraz claiming a gold medal.
The Kopparossa Estate 2012 Coonawarra Vintage Reserve rated highly with a score of 55.5 to be judged alongside some of the best wines in the region.
It continues a string of impressive results for the 2012 Vintage Reserve Shiraz, which was rated five stars and judged equal top in its class at the 2014 Winestate Limestone Coast tasting.
Hoggies Estate Wines also celebrated strong results in other categories, with the Kopparossa Estate 2012 Coonawarra Shiraz receiving a silver medal (51.0) and the 2015 Hoggies Estate Coonawarra Sauvignon Blanc (46.5) and NV Chardonnay/Pinot (46.5) both winning bronze medals.
More mature wines also shared in the spoils, with the 2008 Kopparossa Estate Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon receiving a bronze medal.
“It’s satisfying to see that the Kopparossa Estate 2012 Vintage Reserve Shiraz is really starting to realise it’s potential,’’ said Winemaker Gavin Hogg.
“It was also pleasing to see the 2015 Sauvignon Blanc and newly bottled Sparkling Chardonnay awarded bronze medals.”
